Using Leganto: For Staff: Add eReserve & Reserve items

What are eReserve & Reserve?

eReserve is a repository for subject readings made available electronically for reading lists. The Library eReserve team process requests and produce copyright or licence compliant readings for learning and teaching. It also manages copyright limits for print only resources across the whole University.

You must use the eReserve service in order to put any print only works online, unless you have the written permission from the copyright owner. See Leganto & Copyright.

Reserve is a collection of high-demand physical items made available at designated campus libraries. Print items such as prescribed textbooks are added to the print Reserve collections for short-term loans (2 hours) and to fulfil student digitisation requests. Items are returned to the main collection at the end of session.

See the Library's eReserve & Reserve webpage for more information.

Apply tags

The tags in Leganto serve a few functions but most importantly, they allow eReserve and Reserve requests to be placed through the platform. By applying different tags, you can notify our Library Team of new requests in your list.

What tags to apply and when?

Apply eReserve Digitisation to request a reading from a print resource either held by the Library or not held by the Library be digitised and added to eReserve.

Apply Physical Reserve Required to request a print item held by the Library be added to the Reserve collection at a designated campus for short term loan (2 hours). Apply Remove - No longer required to request that an existing eReserve reading is removed from the system because it's no longer relevant to subject readings. Apply Purchase suggestion to request that a new resource is acquired by the Library.
