Libguide Libguide: Building content and assets

Adding content

To add content to a box, click Add/Reorder (bottom left corner). There are 10 standard Content Types to choose from. You can include multiple types in one box and reorder them as needed.

  • Use Rich Text/HTML for most content including text, images, tables, and more.
  • Don’t adjust fonts or sizes.
  • Use headings, bold, italics, bullet points, and tables to organise and highlight content.
  • If you paste in text you must Remove Formatting
  • Reuse content where you can. Most Content Types are also Assets, so you can use them across multiple guides.

The 10 standard Content Types are:

Creating assets

We have already seen that we can reuse assets (that's the idea). But assets need to be created in the first place. You do this at the point where you want to insert the new asset.

To create a new asset:

  1. Check that it doesn't already exist. You can do this in the Asset repository at Content > Assets. You can filter the assets by Name/Title, Type, and/or Owner.
  2. Click on Add/Reorder
  3. Select the type of asset you wish to create
  4. Select the Create New ... [Link, Widget, Book etc] tab
  5. Follow the prompts to set up the asset
    1. Always include a Name
  6. Click on Save.
