Recording An Engagement Case Study

Recording major engagement case studies in CRO can provide a useful tool for individual researchers to showcase their work to support grant applications, partnerships and promotions.

External research engagement assessments, such as the Australian Research Council’s (ARC) Engagement and Impact Assessment, are growing in significance. Along with national assessments of university research impact, funding bodies, collaborators, investors and stakeholders are also seeking evidence of research engagement when making decisions about partnerships and funding.

Internal assessments such as the Research Productivity Index (RPI) also assess engagement activity to evaluate individual and university-wide research performance. Engagement is an element of category B in RPI. RPI scores are the primary input into EDRS when assessing satisfactory staff research performance (RPI, 2020, page 8).
