There are multiple ways to add resources to your list:
Steps:
NOTE: If linking to a chapter, in the Edit item section add the chapter link to the Source field under Links & availability, then hover over the pre-existing links and select Hide link. For instructions on creating stable chaper- or page-level links to electronic resources, visit our Creating links to resources page.
Use the Cite It! button to add things you find online to your list. To use the Cite It! button, first add it to your browser's bookmark bar. The button works with Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge.
Steps:
When items are added to your Favourites list, they can be added directly from your Favourites list to a reading list.
Steps:
You can add items to your Favourites list the same way as described in the Library Search and Internet Sources steps; instead of selecting a list or section, choose Favourites.
If you have a resource with a DOI or ISBN, the item details can be automatically populated for you.
Steps:
You can now add an item to your list from Primo Search.

2. Under Send to, select the LEGANTO button.
3. In the Add to box, select Readings & Resources List, then select your list from the drop-doen menu.

If you use EndNote, you can import citations from EndNote 21 or EndNote Online to your list.

1. Select the Add button at the top of the list, then select Import references, then From file.
2. From the file type drop down menu, select RIS.

If none of the other options suit for adding an item to a list, you can manually create one.
Steps:
Does your subject have a prescribed, recommended or highly recommended textbook? If a prescribed text section does not already exist at the top of your reading list, create a 'New Section' for the subject textbooks at the top of the reading list so that students can easily locate them. Use Search the library to locate each resource and add it to the section.
Our eBook collection provides free access to textbooks for your students. By adding the e-textbook to your Readings and Resources (Leganto) list, students can refer to it throughout session and you can gather data about the students' usage of the resource.
To ensure students know how to get the most out of their e-textbook for their studies, add the following text as a public note to eBook or eBook chapters throughout a list:
This eBook may have limited concurrent user access. See our eBook Etiquette video for more information: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gHjMbBbArk
Students can also be referred to the Library's eBooks guide and the Using eBooks Online Library Workshop (live sessions and recordings available) for additional support.
Our Librarians are strategically embedded in some subjects throughout a course to support the development of student information and research literacy skills.
An embedded Librarian may create a Research Skills Guide, a library skills recorded demonstration or facilitate a live class for the cohort. These support resources can be linked into a Leganto Reading and Resources list for students to locate easily among their other subject resources. You can even create a new section to showcase these tailored resources.
Research Skills Guides are available on the Library website. Open the guide for your subject and follow the instructions on the Use Cite It! page to add the resource. To add a recording of a library session, use the instructions on the Manual entry section above and paste the URL to the recording in the 'Source' field.
