Student engagement

Boost student engagement using Leganto.

Set a due date on an item to flag it with students. You can do this by selecting Edit item, then Item actions, then choosing a date from the Due date calendar.

Students will be able to:

  • Filter the list to items with due dates.
  • View item due dates.
  • See calendar notifications via the icon on the right side of the window.

Public notes can be added at the section or item level.

Use public notes to communicate expectations around resource usage, for example:

  • "When reading Topic 6 resources, focus on the concept of moral justification"
  • "You may reference these items in Assessment 1, but should also search beyond this list for additional resources."

See Adding tags & notes for more information.

Arrange the sections of your list to reflect the delivery of the course.

Use section titles to communicate to students the expectations around resources usage, for example:

  • Prescribed Texts
  • Highly Recommended Texts
  • Topic 3: Required

Use section descriptions to give students additional instructions, e.g.:

  • "Required resources for Assessment 2"
  • "Choose one reading to summarise and share the main points on the Topic 3 forum".
