Using Leganto: For Staff: Finalise your list

Final Steps

To ensure all readings are processed and visible to students:

  • Apply all tags. Notify the Library of any eReserve or Reserve requests by applying tags to a record.
  • Check the record status (see Set a Status below). Some records will need to be manually sent to the Library for processing.
  • Check all the links direct to the readings properly.
  • Send the list (see below) to the Library for processing.
  • Publish the list (see below). Publish a reading list once it's complete, or work on it live.

Set a status

Most of the time when adding an electronic resource to a list, the citation status will automatically set to 'Complete'. However, when adding eReserve and Print Reserve items, these items won't automatically set to 'Complete'.

To ensure new requests are processed and existing readings are visible to students, follow the advice below.

Change a status
To change a status to 'Sent', choose the ellipsis (...) menu for the resource and select 'Send to Library' from the options.

To change a status to 'Complete', choose the ellipsis (...) menu for the resource and select 'Set complete' from the options. Note: only citations with available links should be set to complete.

Which status to set and when?

  Being prepared Sent Complete
When to apply

This is the default status for print items.

Citations should not be left indefinitely in Being Prepared status.

New eReserve or Print Reserve requests should be changed to the Sent status to be processed by the Library.

Electronic resources from the Library's collection and websites will often set themselves as complete.

Visible to students? No. While these citations will be visible to collaborators, they will not be visible to students.  No. While these citations will be visible to collaborators, they will not be visible to students.

Yes. As long as the citation has an active and available URL and the list is published, students will be able to view it online.

See, Publish your list.

Send List

Select Send List when you have:

  • completed your Readings and Resources list, or
  • modified your existing Readings and Resources list including adding, editing or removing resources.

The Library will check for new textbook editions and process any eReserve, print Reserve and digitisation requests. The Library will contact you if there are any questions.

View list as a student

If you toggle on the "Student Preview" option in subject Interact2 site and then navigate to the Readings and Resources list, you will receive the error on the right.

Instead, follow the instructions below to use the 'View list as a student' feature within Leganto to check the visibility of resources, sections and public notes in a list to students

1. Click on the ellipsis ( ... ) at the top right of the reading list.

Choose 'View list as a student'.

2. Select the X at the bottom, right of the screen to exit 'Student view mode'.

Publish your list

Publish your Readings and Resources list so that students can view it through the subject Interact2 site.

A  list does not need to be complete before it is published. You don't need to wait for confirmation from the Library to publish a list.

1. Click on the ellipsis ( ... ) at the top right of the reading list.

Select Publish.

Make sure your reading list tool is visible in your Interact site, and you're ready to go! See, Enable list visibility.
