Below we'll discuss your assessment task, including how to undergo a Topic Analysis. This will help you develop keywords to search for the information you'll need. After looking through this page head over to the Plan Your Search page for some more tips. Then the Find Scholarly Information tab and the drop down menus below it, to learn how to use the Library and find all the resources you need for your assessment tasks. Don't forget to Evaluate Information you find to ensure it is appropriate. Then head over to Write Your Report for tips on writing and referencing your assessment.
A topic analysis will help you to understand what your assessment question is asking you to do.
Look for the following three key pieces of information:
Your MGT387 assessment 2 is to write a 2000 word report.
Task: Imagine that you work for a Chinese business that is going to expand internationally. Your manager has asked you to explain how cultural variables can affect the way employees/managers behave and communicate in the workplace. Choose two countries to use as the basis of this assignment (you may choose China and another country).

You may need to brainstorm additional terms and words regarding your selected location.

Write down the key concepts from your topic and have a go at brainstorming as many alternative keywords and phrases as possible.
Thinking about your topic in this way forces you to describe your topic in "other words", which will provide you with some useful keyword alternatives as well as help you to cement your understanding of the topic.
Dictionaries and encyclopaedias can help you to find additional keywords and get an overview of the concept.
Oxford Reference Online is a huge repository of subject-specific dictionaries, encyclopaedias, and other reference-type material.
To start searching, it can be useful to begin with an encyclopaedia, dictionary or handbook to get an overview of your topic, or an explanation of words or concepts that are unfamiliar.
