Welcome to the MID441 Research Skills Guide, a guide for Midwifery students at CSU.
This guide is designed to introduce you to finding and using scholarly resources for your assessment tasks
The guide is made up of these sections:
Getting Started: help with topic analysis, interpreting citations, identifying sources of information, and searching
Using Primo Search to find known items and information on a topic
Using Journal Databases for further searching for journal articles and other similar material
Using Other Resources: Google Scholar, and Web Resources
Evaluating and using the information you have found: evaluating information and resources; academic writing and study skills, and referencing.
You can use this guide any way you like: work through it step-by-step, or dip in and out as required. We suggest you take a few minutes to familiarise yourself with the content so you know what's there.
