MID441 Research Skills Guide: Home

Introduction

Welcome to the MID441 Research Skills Guide, a guide for Midwifery students at Charles Sturt University.

This guide is designed to introduce you to finding and using scholarly resources for your assessment tasks, and includes sections on:

  • Getting Started: topic analysis, interpreting citations, identifying sources of information, and searching
  • Using Primo Search to find known items and information on a topic
  • Using Journal Databases for further searching for journal articles and other similar material
  • Other Resources: Google Scholar, UpToDate and Web Resources
  • Evaluating, writing and referencing the information you have found

You can use this guide any way you like: work through it step-by-step, or dip in and out as required. Take a few minutes to familiarise yourself with the content so you know what's there.

If you need help with using or accessing any Library resources, please contact me or contact the Library - details are in the boxes on the right.
