Google Scholar allows you to locate resources such as articles, theses and books.

You can set Google Scholar up on your browser so any results held by CSU Library can be linked. To do this:

  • Go to Google Scholar
  • Click on Hamburger menu iconat the top left of the screen
  • Select Settings option
  • Select Library links
  • Enter Charles Sturt University and click the Search button
  • Tick Charles Sturt University - Find it at CSU and click Save

Results that are available via CSU Library are designated with a Find it at CSU link, and this setting will be saved on the browser and computer you are using.

Google Scholar is useful, but it does have a few disadvantages:

  • it covers a world of subject areas, so your results may not be as relevant as you would like
  • the search functionality (even if you use the Advanced Search options) is not as sophisticated as in most journal databases
  • you cannot screen for Peer Review, so need to check the results you find

For more information, see the Library's Google Scholar web page.
