EndNote and NVivo for Literature Review: Memos

Memos

Memos is where you develop and record your understanding, ideas and interpretation of the material in your project.

NVivo can automatically create a memo for references imported from EndNote, but you can also create your own.

Use Memos to:

  • Paraphrase your readings
  • Make notes and identify relationships between topics
  • Create see also links to connect different readings
  • Code the text in the memo in the relevant Nodes, this is useful for materials without PDFs or your own thoughts

NVivo 12 Guides:

Open a Memo

You will find the Memos folder under Quick Access or under Notes  in the Navigation Menu.
