MD Research Project Guide: Step one

A guide for the School of Rural Medicine's MD research project

Getting started

It's a good idea to start your project with the end in mind. It may seem strange to be worrying about how to reference or organise your sources before you start looking for them, but if you have this organised early, the rest will be so much easier when you come to it! Before you proceed further, to successfully complete your project, you will need to ensure that you understand:

EndNote and referencing - if you haven't already downloaded and used EndNote, start now. It will keep all your references together and organised. And you need to know how to reference!

Academic writing - some suggestions about presenting your academic essays and reports, and where to find help. For this project, all students need to write a research proposal that includes a literature review and prepare a final report at the end of the project.
