Medicine: MD Research Project Guide

Introduction

Welcome to the MD Project Research Skills guide, created by your Librarians in consultation with the School of Rural Medicine Research and Evaluation Team. It is designed to assist you as you develop your research and progress through your project.

Aim of the MD project

The aim of the MD project is to expose medical students to research, develop their research skills and their ability to critically evaluate research outputs. Focussing on an aspect of health-related research, medical education, and/or health service delivery, the MD Project will strengthen students’ skills in critical inquiry, analytical thinking, oral and written communication, and project management. These activities will start students on their journey towards lifelong learning and service to communities where they live and work.
