What is SoTL?

The Scholarship of Teaching & Learning (SoTL) is

'concerned with gaining new or improved understanding, appreciation and insights into a field of knowledge, and engaging with and keeping up to date with advances in the field. This includes advances in ways of teaching and learning in the field and advances in professional practice, as well as advances in disciplinary knowledge through original research' (TEQSA, 2018).

The Division of Learning & Teaching (DLT) is spearheading this approach at Charles Sturt. You can find out more about SoTL on the DLT website.

This guide will take you through the different resources available to you to help you

  • learn more about the principles of SoTL
  • discover current research in SoTL
  • connect with other SoTL practitioners
  • share your SoTL experiences with others.
