Primo Search Help: Working with Results

Understanding the results screen

You can identify the resource type from the description above the title of the item. This will tell you whether the item is a book, a journal, an article or some kind of multimedia like a video.  It will also tell you if the item is available online or at which campus it's held.

Primo results screen

If the results list indicates there are multiple versions found, this means there are multiple editions, or different formats of the item available.  You can click on this link to see a list of the different editions.

Item details

Clicking on the title of an item will open a more detailed view, we call this the Primo record. On this screen you will see the item details repeated and the following headings:

  • Send to
  • View Online or Find & Request (for print items)
  • Details
  • Virtual Browse
  • Links

Working with a record

There are a number of actions that you can take with a Primo record.  Some of these appear on the right hand side of the record, but you can find more under the ellipses (...) on the right hand side of each record:

Primo Search action options

If you click on the ellipses, you will get the full list of actions that you can take, including creating a permalink to the record, exporting the record to EndNote, and printing or emailing the record:

The list of action items appears in each item's full record as a "Send to" list.
