Evaluating Resources test - Resource types

Books and eBooks

Books and ebooks you intend to use as sources for assessments or research should be scholarly. Checking the credentials of a book's author and publisher, and identifying sources cited, may help you to establish whether or not a book is scholarly.

Books and eBooks: Scholarly or Not?

We don't have many existing resources available to specifically identify a scholarly book. There are some good You tube videos, eg https://youtu.be/_YIzzR5lKms but they are created by & branded for other Universities - our own video would be better, but in the meantime we could perhaps create a flowchart or similar in eg Visme re. how to identify a scholarly book (eg below - just a quick creation, not a final product - final product would need branding elements added).
