Systematic and Systematic-like Reviews

Concept analysis

If your initial review of the literature reveals unclear key concepts, consider conducting a concept analysis for a better understanding. Also known as a conceptual analysis or concept synthesis, this can become a type of literature review (and reported on in a systematic-like way) that shows the process of examining the basic elements of a word or element to promote clarity through literature examples. It can be a preparatory stage for a scoping review or a standalone publication.

There are several approaches described to undertake a concept analysis, one that is commonly used is that of Walker and Avant (2010).
