LIT225 Research Skills Guide: Home

Introduction

Welcome to the LIT225 Research Skills Guide.

This guide was made for you by Charles Sturt University Librarians. It is designed to make your research process easier.

The Texts and Resources page has links to many of your prescribed texts, as well as additional resources you will find useful during this course.

We will also cover the best way to:

  • Identify keywords and search strategies for your assessment
  • Find reference materials and relevant resources using the Library and the Internet
  • Evaluate your reference materials for suitability
  • Write & Reference in your assessment

You can use this guide any way you like; read it front to back or dip in and out as required. I recommend taking a few minutes to familiarise yourself with the content so you know what's in there in case you find yourself stuck later on. Keep in mind that research is not a linear process and may not always follow a particular order of steps.

You could also have a look at our Literature Library Resource Guide, which is full of resources you could use during your course.

Most important of all, use your librarians! If you need help with anything library or research related, please get in touch with the library - you'll find links to contact us in the right side column of this page.

Wishing you the very best for the study ahead.
