What is Primo Search?

Primo Search allows you to use one search box to bring back results from most of the Charles Sturt University Library collection, such as:

  • Books, eBooks, DVDs and journals
  • Most online journal articles and newspaper articles
  • Charles Sturt University research papers and theses

Enter your search terms, and then use the links on the results screen to refine your results, view online material, or locate physical resources.

In Primo Search try searching for the following keywords:

"allied health" AND ("qualitative research" OR "quantitative research" OR "mixed methods")

" " quotation marks are used to search for a phrase, OR is a Boolean operator, & parentheses ( ) are used to create a complex search, see the Develop your search strategy page for more information.

After conducting your search, use the "Refine my results" options to narrow down the results to the specific types of articles needed for your assessment:

  • Peer-reviewed journals
  • Years 2015-2025

Alternatively, you could try searching for the key concepts you identified from your own assessment topic.

  • Try further refining your results by using the Topics options on the left, this may assist you to make your results more relevant.
  • To identify research articles, review the abstracts for information about the research methods used. For further guidance, refer to the How to Identify and Read a Research Article page.
