Direct export

Direct export instructions for EndNote


  • Do your search as normal
  • Select your required citations and click on Export

  • Choose RIS format  and click Export

  • Once the file has downloaded it will be listed at the bottom of the screen

  • Click on the file to open it
  • If it does not open EndNote automatically, click Open to download the reference to EndNote


  1. If you are using a Macintosh computer you may be prompted to choose an application (EndNote) and you may be prompted to select the  EndNote Library you wish to use
  2. If you are using the Firefox browser it will be listed in the top tool bar


Scopus allows export of 2000 at a time.

  • Enter your search terms
  • Select the items you wish to export (you can select All or by page, or you can click on items individually)
  • The Export Document Settings menu, select RIS - Only the first 2000 documents.
