What are measures of esteem?

Research quality may also be indicated by measures of esteem. They present additional evidence of your research quality and/or capacity to support  traditional research metrics.

There are a number of ways to demonstrate measures of esteem, as outlined below. Many of these can be recorded in your CRO profile, you can also link them to outputs in your profile where appropriate.

Journal Editorship

I was the Associate Editor from 2018-2020 for the open access, Q1 ranked journal Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine. The journal is ranked 5 out of 200 in the Veterinary (miscellaneous) category in Scimago, with an SJR score of 1.356 (Source: Scimago, 18 Nov 2021).

Influence or impact on government

In 2016-2017, I was invited to appear as a consultant to the Australian Law Reform Commission into Protecting the Rights of Older Australians from Abuse. (Source: ALRC Final report 2017).

Awards and Prizes

In 2018, an article written with two other authors was awarded the Outstanding Paper of 2018 by the Weed Technology Journal. The article investigated the suitability of the iHSD for use in Australian crop production systems. (Source: Author, 18 November 2021

Peer-review activities

In 2021, I reviewed for the Q1 ranked journal in Cultural Studies, Media International Australia. This journal is ranked 92 out of 1104 journals in Scimago and has a SJR score of .499. (Source: Scimago, 18 November 2021).
