One of the most important things to think about when writing up an assessment task, is to make sure you acknowledge the source of ideas and concepts that are not your own. You will at some stage be required to complete the Academic Integrity Course that will help you to understand your responsibilities.
One important skill you will learn in relation to Academic Integrity is how to reference the sources you draw from in your assessments. Referencing gives credit to the original owner or creator of the source. A reference list also allows readers to follow up the sources you have used if they want to.
There are many different styles used to format academic references, but the most commonly used at Charles Sturt University is APA (American Psychological Association). You will become have to use good referencing practice throughout your course with Charles Sturt University, so it’s a great idea to start on the right path from the beginning.
