Language, Cultures & Histories

Information which speaks reliably across the languages, cultures, and histories of all First Nations peoples can be difficult to find. This can be because of the large number of First Nations Countries across this land which each have their own language, culture, and histories. For some reliable information you can explore a map of First Nations languages on the First Languages Australia website, or take a look at the 50 Words project that aims to provide readers fifty words in every Indigenous language of Australia.

Below is some information on the Language and culture of the Nations that Charles Sturt University campuses are situated in, the Wiradjuri, Birpai, Ngunnawal, and Gundungurra nations.

To engage with the oldest surviving culture in the world check out the AIATSIS explore page.
