NRS531 Research Skills Guide: Home

Introduction

Welcome to the NRS531 Research Skills Guide.

This guide is designed to help you find and evaluate resources for your assessment tasks.

You will learn the processes involved when undertaking searches in databases, using tools such as PICO and SPIDER to help you form search strategies.

Use this guide any way you like; read it front to back or dip in and out as required. I recommend taking a few minutes to familiarise yourself with the content so you know what's in there in case you find yourself stuck later on. I also recommend taking a look at the CSU Library Guide on Evidence-Based Practice

Keep in mind that research is not a linear process and may not always follow a particular order of steps.

Most important of all, use your librarians! If you need help with anything library or research related, you can reach me on the Ask a Librarian Forum in your NRS531 Discussion Board, email me or get in touch with the library!
