CRO: Adding Research Outputs, Impact, Engagement and Scholarly Activities

A guide to using the different forms in CRO / Pure to enter Impact, Engagement, Scholarly Activities, Awards, Press and Media, as well as the more traditional Research Outputs.

CSU News items and Newsflo

Newsflo is now available in Pure to automatically add most news items about you and your research, reducing the need for you to add these.

Newsflo

The Newsflo feature in Pure is set up to import news items every day from the internet. CRO staff review and make any articles by or about you available in your CRO records, and in your public profile.

Charles Sturt University News items about you and your research are also imported by Newsflo.  CSU News items are managed by the Media and Public Relations Office.

Charles Sturt University Media can assist staff to:

  • promote events, achievements or research through media releases and liaison
  • prepare for media interview with advice and media training
  • promote initiatives through central social media channels
  • establish working relationships with journalists in relevant rounds
  • draft and execute communication plans for Schools, Research Centres or other specific topics.

To submit a story for consideration, email news@csu.edu.au with a completed media brief. Provide as much information about the topic or event and consider whether the suggested item is newsworthy. In most cases, it is preferable we receive at least one week's prior notice..."

Adding Media or news items by, or about you

Media or news items written by or about you are important to include in CRO.  You may need to enter some news items that are not imported by the Charles Sturt University Media and NewsFlow into CRO / Pure.

Items to include are:

  • Newspaper articles (online or in print)
  • Television News items
  • Radio News or Interviews
  • Blog posts

Add the media description

 

The Press Media Form consists of 2 sections, it is important to remember to complete both:

  • The Description of the Press/Media article content
  • An additional form for the Details of the Media Contribution and Media Coverage

The Description

This form allows you to enter the title and an abstract, keywords, some Event information and Relations to link the item to your Research Outputs or Activities as appropriate.

Select Add Media contribution and Media coverage to get to the Details entry form

Select the media by or about you

Select the Type of media coverage. It is written:

  • by you, is it your contribution?
  • or is it written about you, by another?

Complete the Details form including:

  • Date, links to online content, the media outlet name.
  • Degree of Recognition can be international, national or local.
  • Media type can be Print, Radio, Television, web or other.
  • If the article is created by another producer or author, enter their details.
