BIO323 Research Skills Guide: Newspaper & Media Databases

New Template

Accessing media and news

News and media items, whether from print, digital or audiovisual media can be a major source of research material for students. You can use the latest news for current examples, or look at historical news sources for contemporary reports of key historical events.

You can read some print news stories from databases directly online. Where full-text is not available online, or is incomplete or poor quality, note the name of the newspaper and date of the article and check Library Search to see if the newspaper is held on microfilm.

Media Databases

It is very important to keep-up-to-date with current affairs and how it affects industry and research. The below databases and guides will enable you to do this.
