The Spatial Data Analysis Network

The Spatial Data Analysis Network (SPAN) is a research support unit within the Research Office, Charles Sturt University. 

SPAN can assist with analysis and visualisation of digital data sets, such as:

  • Satellite / Airborne Imagery
  • GIS and Mapping Data
  • Census and other Australian Bureau of Statistics data
  • Weather records and climate data from the Bureau of Meteorology

Their services are available for higher degree students, researchers and academic staff.

Atlas of Living Australia  - A collaborative aggregator of biodiversity knowledge.

Australian Ocean Data Network - Interactive maps, geospatial datasets, satellite imagery. This is a primary access point for the Australian marine community.

CSIRO Data Access Portal - Data published by CSIRO, across a range of disciplines

Australian National Map - An Australian government sponsored portal of government spacial data.

ATSIDA -The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Data Archive works closely with researchers to support the management and archiving of research data.

Purchasing data provides an easy way to find, access and reuse public datasets from Government. In addition to open datasets, the catalogue includes unpublished data and data available for purchase.

Marketing Edge Dataset Library. Datasets are made available online to approved academics for classroom use, dissertations and/or other research and are free of charge to members of the Marketing EDGE Professors’ Academy. Data set usage rules and costs may vary.

Google Dataset Search - Dataset Search aims to help users to find data sets stored across thousands of repositories on the Web, making these data sets universally accessible and useful.

Search Results can be filtered by Update date, Download Format, Usage rights, or Free to access/or licenced for redistribution.
