What is referencing?

Referencing at CSU

Referencing is important for a number of reasons:

  • It helps readers locate the resources you discuss
  • It is required to acknowledge the work and ideas of others, and
  • It helps you avoid plagiarism.

The main referencing style used at CSU is APA, though this is not the only style used at CSU and you should check with your lecturer if you are unsure.

For more information on referencing and help with using APA please see the Referencing at Charles Sturt University webpage.
