AHT101 Research Skills Guide - OLD, dont delete yet: Use Primo Search

What is Primo Search?

Primo Search allows you to use one search box to bring back results from most of the Charles Sturt University Library collection, such as:

  • Books, eBooks, DVDs and journals
  • Most online journal articles and newspaper articles
  • Charles Sturt University research papers and theses

Enter your search terms, and then use the links on the results screen to refine your results, view online material, or locate physical resources.

Activity

""In Primo Search try typing in the keywords – “Muscle score”, “beef cattle”, Australia* (or other keywords that you identified in your topic analysis). Click on search to view your results.

Notice the number of results you get? The good thing about Primo Search is that most of these are all available to you through the Library's subscriptions and holdings.

  • Try using the facets on the left to refine your search. Limit to books or ebooks to see what is available in each format.
  • You may notice that there is a mix of topics so try selecting a Topic from left hand Refine My Results column to make your results more relevant.
