You should be familiar with APA Referencing style by now. It's handy to have the University's Referencing page bookmarked for constant checking! The ART tool and the Referencing Summary are both essential to have on hand.
If you haven't started using EndNote yet to help you organise your references and cite-while-you-write, now is the time to bite the bullet. It may take a short while to get used to it and set it up, but in the end it will save you hours of time.
It's a good idea to enrol in an Online Library Workshop about EndNote if you haven't used it before - see the information below. Trying to set it up with no instruction at all could result in frustration and not using it properly. Once you have it set up and running, if you have any problems at all, please contact the Library.
The Library's EndNote Guide has all the information you need about this program, which can be used to:
Before installing the latest version of EndNote on a personal computer, please ensure you have uninstalled any previous versions of EndNote, For information on how to uninstall EndNote please see Uninstalling EndNote in our Endnote Guide.
For information on how to Install EndNote see Download & Install in our EndNote Guide.
When you start EndNote the first time, you will be presented with the Welcome to EndNote guide screen prompting you to set up an account in EndNote Online.
Important - Please see Creating your Library in our Endnote Guide for information on managing and storing your EndNote files.
Once you have created an EndNote Library you can begin adding references to your Library. References can either be entered manually or can be downloaded/exported from Primo Search, the journal databases or from Google Scholar.
Once references have been added to EndNote you then have the option of attaching PDFs to those records.
For more information and instructions on how to download references and attach PDFs please see Manually Adding & Editing References, Using Direct Export & Attaching Full-Text PDF Files to Records from our EndNote Guide.
Once you have added references to your Endnote Library you can then use the Endnote toolbar which will now be in Word to insert in-text citations and reference list entries in your chosen referencing style in Word documents.
