Sydney Study Centre Library: Welcome

Charles Sturt University Study Centre Sydney and Brisbane Libraries

Charles Sturt University Study Centre Sydney and Brisbane are currently closed due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

However, the Library staff is still available to assist you online with all your information needs.

Zoom drop-in sessions

In addition, Study Centre Sydney Librarians are available for a drop-in session everyday at 12pm - 1pm. This is a great opportunity for you to ask any questions about the Library.

COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is the Study Centre and/ or Library open?

No, the Study Centre, including the Library is closed.

Plans to re-open the campus are being considered taking into account risk assessments. An announcement will be made in due time.


Can I borrow books?

No, it is not possible to borrow physical books from the Study Centre Library at this time.

It is recommended to use the eBook from Charles Sturt University Library. You can also access the eBook from the textbook booklist found in Textbooks & eTextbooks, and on Sydney's and Brisbane's Library iLearn page.

Alternatively, you can purchase a physical copy through the following online outlets:


You can purchase a second-hand copy of some of the textbooks from StudentVip and Zookal.


How do I find / access the eBook?

Instructions to find an eBook can be found in Textbooks & eTextbooks. You can also use the textbook booklists to access the textbooks. 


What about the books I have borrowed before the shutdown?

Students who are continuing their studies in semester 2 and who have books from the Library have been granted an extension on their library book loans. 

Please do NOT write, underline, highlight, damage or lose them. You will need to return them when the Study Centre reopens. Fines will apply for damaged or lost books up to $180 for each book.


What do I do with the Library books, if I have completed my studies?

Instructions on returning your books and paying any fines will be sent by email near the end of the semester.

Failure to return your books will result in withholding your graduation. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us by phone, email or Zoom.


How to I pay my Library fines?

Instructions to pay your Library fines will be sent by Email. Contact the Library by phone, email or Zoom. We will check if you have any fines and send you the instructions.
