Welcome to the Library Research Skills Guide for SOC101: Understanding the Social World.
This guide was made for you by a librarian from Charles Sturt Library. It is designed to make the research process for Assessment Item 2 easier; however, you will also find these research skills useful for the first assessment item and throughout your university studies!
We will cover the best way to:
You can use this guide any way you like; read it front to back or dip in and out as required. I recommend taking a few minutes to familiarise yourself with the content so you know what's in here in case you find yourself stuck later on.
Keep in mind that research is not a linear process and may not always follow a particular order of steps.

To help you locate information for your assessments in SOC101, I have created a Library research recording. This recording covers how to find different types of resources, brainstorming keywords, using search techniques in Primo Search and evaluating information. The best part?
