MGT382 Research Skills Guide: Introduction

Important note

From 2021 there is a new Business Studies Research Skills Guide for the Bachelor of Business Studies offshore pathway program. You'll find many library resources there to help you in your studies with Charles Sturt, including the subjects ACC384, FIN381, FIN385MGT382 and MGT387. The guide below isn't being updated after 2020.

Welcome to the MGT382 Research Skills Guide.

This guide was made for you by a Librarian from Charles Sturt University Library. It is designed to make your research process easier.

We will cover the best way to:

  • Plan your search strategy, focusing on your assessment item
  • Find scholarly information using Primo Search and library databases including a demonstration on how to find specific company information
  • Evaluate information that you have found
  • Write your report using the information that you have found

Remember that research may not always follow a particular order of steps. Dip in and out of this guide, as you need to, throughout your studies.

If you need help with anything library or research related, contact the library.

And for a look around the online library and to see all the resources that are available to you, check out our Getting Started With Your Library modules.

Wishing you well for the study ahead.
