Our Facilities: what are they?

Our facilities are the bricks and mortar spaces within the Library and Learning Commons areas across the CSU campuses.It includes the 24 hours spaces you study in, the collaborative areas, group discussion rooms, desks and computers for individual study, kitchenettes and printing facilities.

Wagga Wagga Learning Commons and Library

Our new facilities in the Wagga Library and Commons

You like the mix of individual and group study spaces.

But, you need more areas for group and individual study and easier access to the resources.

Our response:

  • A new Level one area for individual and group study.
  • Refurbishment of Level three with new carpet, paint, furniture and more power points for students to use with their mobile devices.
  • Consolidation of books and journals to create more study space on Level 3.
  • Dedicated Primo Search computers.
  • A dedicated computer for community and reciprocal borrowers
  • Digital signage to let you know what resources and services are available

 

 

Bathurst Learning Commons and Library

Our new facilities in the Bathurst Library and Learning Commons

You like the mix of individual and group study spaces.

But, you need more areas for group and individual study and easier access to the resources.

Our response:

  • Refurbishment of the top level (Level six) and conversion into a 24 hour study zone with a mix of group and individual study areas.
  • Consolidation of the library's physical collection onto level five, with new furniture and more group and individual study spaces
  • Dedicated Primo search computers.
  • Digital signage to let you know what resources and services are available.

Port Macquarie Learning Commons and Library

The new Port Macquarie facilitiesOur newest campus. 

  • Our newest campus library and Learning Commons opened for business on April 26.
  • You now have access to an expanded 24 hour space and a dedicated and comprehensive library collection on campus.
  • Smart RFID labels were installed into our physical collection for faster loans.
  • More library staff on site to help you find the library resources you need

 

 

Albury Learning Commons and Library

Albury Learning CommonsYou asked for more quiet study areas.

Our response:

  • Conversion of the Albury-Wodonga researcher's room into a quiet study room.
  • Digital signage to let you know what resources and services are available
  • Installation of RFID technology for self service loans and returns. 

 

Dubbo Learning Commons and Library

New facilities in the Dubbo LibraryYou need quieter areas to study and improved access to the physical collection.

Our response:

  • Installation of smart RFID labels into our physical collection for faster loans
  • Carpeted walkways to improve acoustics
  • Refurbished library and study space on Level 1, including more group spaces and comfortable furniture. 
  • Quiet study room on Level 4. 

Coming soon: Refurbishment of the space is underway, due for completion by Session 1, 2017. Lots of improvements coming, including 24/7 access. 

Orange learning Commons and Library

You need more comfortable seating for group and private study and extended hours access

Our response:

  • New comfortable Bean bag chairs in the library.
  • The installation of individual powered desks
  • More private study rooms
  • Installation of smart RFID technology providing faster loans and self service returns
  • 24/7 access to the collection space, increasing the availability of study spaces. 

 

 

Across all campuses; printing, copying and scanning

You rely on being able to access printers in the learning commons areas 24 hours a day.

You need a system that is easy to use, enables scanning and printing from your own device.

Our response:

  • A new printing and copying system (papercut) was implemented in March 2015, simplifying the printing, coping and scanning process.
  • Scanning from all the multi-function devices in the learning commons.
  • The introduction of myprint, allowing you to submit print jobs from your own mobile device/laptop or desktop computer.
