Direct export instructions for EndNote

EBSCOhost - Individual References

Items found using EBSCOhost databases can be exported to EndNote, both individually and as a group. As with all exports it is important to check your references in your EndNote library as some editing may be required.

  • From your search results list click on the title of the required citation
  • Click the Export icon

  • Select Direct Export in RIS Format

  • Click Save
  • Once the file has downloaded it will be listed at the bottom of the screen

  • Click on the file to open it
  • If it does not open EndNote automatically, click Open to download the reference to EndNote

NB:

  1. If you are using a Macintosh computer you may be prompted to choose an application (EndNote) and you may be prompted to select the  EndNote Library you wish to use
  2. If you are using the Firefox browser it will be listed in the top tool bar

 

EBSCOhost - Multiple References

  • Add required citations from your search results list to your Folder
  • Click Folder View to display list of selected records

  • Once the files have downloaded they will be listed at the bottom of the screen

Exporting large numbers of records into EndNote

Researchers working on systematic reviews may wish to export hundreds (or even thousands) of records into EndNote from databases.

EBSCOhost databases now have a facility for exporting up to 25,000 citations at once into EndNote. Click here for detailed instructions.
