EBSCO eBooks provide an online reader that does not require any special software and can be used on computers and tablet devices.

• To access an EBSCO eBook in the online reader select either the PDF or EPUB full text links from the book's home screen

From the left hand navigation panel in the online reader you can access a contents listing, search within the book and view any saved notes. To save notes in the EBSCO eBooks online reader you must have an EBSCOhost personal account. See Downloading for information on how to create an account.

From the menu of icons along the top of the online reader you can:

• Add to folder - this is a temporary folder, to permanently save a book to your folder within this interface you must first have created an EBSCO personal account.
• Save Pages - save a page, page range or chapter to PDF. Limits apply to the number of pages that can be copied or saved from EBSCO eBooks, print/save allowances vary for each book and can be found on a book's home screen (see image below). Print/Save allowances do not refresh in EBSCO. PDFs created from EBSCO eBooks can be saved permanently to your computer and annotated/highlighted using your PDF reading software.

• E-mail Pages - email a pdf version of a page or page range, print/save allowances also apply to the email pages function.
• Print Pages - print a page or page range, again the Print/Save allowances apply. For more information please see How to Print, E-mail or Save EBSCO eBooks Pages as a PDF
• Cite - options for a number of referencing styles are provided. Also note the export to EndNote option.
• Dictionary - enables you to search for definitions within the EBSCO eBooks interface.
• Export - export citation to EndNote (or other bibliographic management software)
• Permalink - link you can use to return to this title within EBSCO eBooks, link accessible by CSU students and Staff.
• Share - share to various social media accounts, again link will only be accessible by CSU Students and Staff.

You must have a personal account in EBSCO before you can download an EBSCO eBook. To create a personal account:

• Click the Sign In link that appears on the top of the EBSCO eBooks page
• Click Create a new Account
• Enter required information
• Use your newly created Username & Password to log into your My EBSCOhost account

You will also need to have the free e-book reading software Adobe Digital Editions installed on your computer before you can download an EBSCO eBook. Note that after installing Adobe Digital Editions you will be prompted to create a free Adobe ID, this is required if you need to transfer a downloaded eBook to another device.

The full download feature is available for many EBSCO eBooks, however you will not be able to download those books which allow only limited concurrant users.

To download an EBSCO eBook to your computer:

• From the ebook's home screen select Download This eBook (Offline)

• Select a Checkout Period, format (select either PDF or EPUB formats, PDF appears similar to original print version & EPUB enables page resizing options) and click Checkout & Download
• In the dialogue box that appears select Open with Adobe Digital Editions
• eBook will open in Adobe Digital Editions.
• Adobe Digital Editions enables you to add bookmarks to text, search within the text and to print and copy portions of the text. To print go to the File menu and select Print. Note that there will by print/copy restrictions on eBooks from EBSCO, allowances are set by publishers and will vary.
